.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- Temperature continues to swing with an unsettled weather
  pattern over the next week.

- A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for eastern portions of
  the area through tomorrow morning.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
A warm front has brought temperatures up to around the freezing
mark today. A shortwave trough is helping bring snow into the
area, which will continue into the morning before ending in the
early afternoon tomorrow prior to the next wave of precipitation
tomorrow night. Although there are no products out for Friday
night, a winter highlight will be necessary. Much of the area is
expected to receive a trace up to around 5 inches of snow Friday
night into Saturday. Another wave of precipitation is expected to
move through on Saturday night into Sunday as another shortwave
trough passes through the region. Temperatures will continue to
fluctuate this week as arctic air and warmer intermountain air
push back and forth with each other over the area in response to
the high pressure region over the Pacific Northwest.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Used a blend of NBM and NBM 90 for the minimum temperature tonight
and winds. Also increased PoP manually for the Winter Weather
Advisory locations.

There is high confidence of snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches in the
advisory area through tomorrow morning. There is high confidence a
winter weather highlight will be issued for the system moving
through on Friday night. There is moderate confidence in
temperatures following closely to the NBM during the entire
forecast period. There is moderate confidence in snowfall amounts
from Friday night through Sunday.
